This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb by Jenny Penick Garner ===================================================================== Carroll County, TN Deeds Grantor: Spencer Bowmer Bk P, Pg 541 Grantee: John McDonald Date: 4 Mar 1858 Land: I, Spencer Bowmer of the county of Weakley Tenn hath this day bargained and sold to John McDonald of the county of Carroll Tenn for and in consideration of the sum of Twentyfour hundred dollars to me in hand paid (or interests paid on from the 10th day of November 1854 untill paid) the ______ and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged by me. Now I aforesaid Spencer Bowmer in comply ance with any bond do hereby deed and convey to the aforesaid John McDonald his heirs or assignes the following four tracts or parcels of land one tract of sixty nine acres convey to me by Thomas Moore and one tract of twentyone acres convey to me by Thomas Moore & one tract of ten acres conveyed to me by Phoeby Scates and one tract of one hundred acres conveyed to me by Hugh A. Moore, all contained in the following bounds (to wit) beginning on a stake two poplars for pointers on the east boundary line of a one thousand acre survey in the name of John C. McLemore being John McDonald N.E. Cor ner of a tract conveyed to him by T. A. Crawford runs west with said McDonalds west boundary line ninty-eight poles to a stake dogwood post oak & black gum pointers thence North 43 1/3 poles to a Sassafras dogwood and sassafras point thence west with John McDonalds north boundary line to Joseph Coopers North east corner passing said corner runs west with said Coopers North line to the Northwest corner of the 100 acre tract conveyed to Jo. Cooper by John Clark on the west boundary line of said 1000 acres survey thence North with said west boundary line until it reaches the southwest corner of a thirtythree and one third acre tract known as the 33 1/3 acre leased by M. C. Randell to Wm. Moore thence east with the south line of said 33 1/3 acres tract to Ed. Guins south west corner passing said Guins south line to his southeast corner in the west line of the tract owned by C. Jones and the east line of the 1000 acre tract in the name of McLemore of which tract said land is a part thence south with said east boundry line to the beginning being one hundred and sixty three poles containing in all two hundred acres more or less to have and to hold to him the aforesaid John McDonald his heirs and assignees forever and do further convenant and agree with him the McDonald that I am lawfully seized of said land and have a good right to convey and that the same are all unincumbered and hereby binds myself my heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to said lands with all and singular the rights and privileges there unto pertaining or in anyway belonging to him the said John McDonald his heirs and assignees against the lawful claims or claim of all persons whatever in witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this the 4th day of March 1858.
