Crawford Bk D Pg 403 Grantee: John McDonald Date: 5 Jan 1838 Land: Dis 12, Rng 2 Sec 4 This Indenture made and Enterd into on the 5th day of January on thousand eig ht hundred and thirty eight between John McDonald of Weakley County Tennessee of the one part and Thomas A. Crawford of Carroll County and State aforesaid of the other part, witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of six hun- dred and seventy two dollars and fifty cents the receipt of which is hereby ack nowledged, therefore the said Crawford hath given granted bargained and sold, and doth by these presents, give, grant, bargain, sell, and convey unto said John McDonald, a certain price, parcel, or tract of land, containing one hundred and sixty one acres & 3/4 Situated in the twelfth District Carroll County and State of Tennessee Range 2 and section 4 on the north of the south Fork of the Obion River. Bing a part of a tract of one thousand acres entered No. 112 in the name of John C. McLemore founded on a Military warrant No. 1673 and granted unto said John C. McLemore by the State of Tennessee No. 17359 dated 8th day of June 1822 and bounded as follows (viz) Beginning on a hickory three dogwoods for pointers the north west corner of the Town tract and the South East corner of Joseph Coopers 100 acre tract, running East one hundred and forty poals to a stake black oak pointers standing in the East boun- dary of the said 1000 acre tract, thence North one hundred and seventy two poals to a stake, two poplars for pointers in said East boundary line. Thence West ninety eight poles to a stake, dogwood, post oak & black gum pointers, the south West corner of Moores one hundred acre tract. Thence North forty three poals to a stake poplar & two black oads for pointers. Thence West forty two poals to a stake poplar and dogwood pointers the north East corner of Jos. Coopers 100 acres. Thence South two hundred and fifteen poles to the beginning. To have and to hold the aforesaid Land and bargained and premises with all rights privileges, inprovements emoluments hereditaments appurtenances of in and to the same belonging or in any manner appertaining unto said McDonald and his heirs and assigns forever, and said Crawford doth covenant and agree to and with said McDonald that the before described land and bargained premises has now doth and will forever hereafter warrant and defend unto him and his heirs and assigns forever against the claim or claims of any person or per sons whatever.
