C. Dougherty of the Coun ty of Carroll and state of Tennessee for dec___ good causes me here unto me ___ hath and by these presents doth nominate constitute and appoint Ed ward Gwin of the County and state aforesaid my true and lawful attorney for me and in my name to sell and convey all property both real and personal that I own in the said state of Tennessee with the appurtenances and all my estate, right, title and interest therein unto such person or persons and for such price or prices, as he shall think proper and also for me and in my name place and stead and as my proper act and deed, to sign seal, deliver, and acknow ledge all such deed or deed of conveyance as shall be necessary for the ab solute granting and assuring of the premises unto the purchaser or purchasers in fee simple, hereby ratifying allowing and holding for firm and effectual all and whatsoever my said attorney shall lawfully do in and about the premises by virtue hereof.
