I John GORDON have this day sold and do hereby convey to Alexander LAWRANCE
his heirs and assigns forever for five hundred and fifty dollars to me paid
a woman slave named Malida. I warrant the title to said slave to the said
Alexander LAWRANCE his heirs and assigns against all lawful claims of all
persons and I also warrant her to be bound healthy sensible and a slave for
life this the 29th day of October 1849.

said County John GORDON with whom I am personally acquainted and who
acknowledged that he signed the within bill of sale for the purposes
