DeShony Date: 27 Mar 1869 This Indenture made & entered into this the 27th day of March 1869 between Edward Gwinn of the County of Carroll & State of Tennessee of the one part & Lewis W. De-Shony of the County & State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the Said Edward Gwinn has this day bargained and Sold & does by these presents bargain Sell & convey unto the Said Lewis W. DeShony for & in consideration of the Sum of Five Hundred Dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the following describing tract or parcel of land lying & being in the County & state aforesaid & bounded as follows to wit, Beginning on a stake with two white oak & hickory pointers Stand-ing in a dry Branch Bottom 14 poles north 29 ½ East of Younger's South east corner runing East 3 [degrees] south 70 poles through the springs to a Stake with two Chestnut & a Red Oak pointers thence North 11 ½ [degrees] East 111 ½ poles to Robert Mitchums North East cor-ner in a bunch of Dogwoods Standing in the Adams Spring Branch with Black Oak & hickory pointers thence West 108 poles to a Stake with Red oak & post Oak pointers thence South with Youngers line 111 ½ poles to the beginning containing by estimation Sixty nine acres more or less.
