Travis Date- 6 Oct 1857 Land-73 1/3Ac This indenture made and entered into between Edward Guinn of the one part and William Travis of the other both of the County of Carroll and State of Tennessee witnesseth that the aforesaid Edward Guinn hath this day bargained and Sold and by these presents doth bargain Sell and convey to the aforesaid Wm. Travis and his heirs forever for and in consideration of the Sum of Four hundred and Sixty dollars to me in hand paid the receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged a certain tract or parcel of land in State and County aforesaid and Bounded as follows (to wit) Begining on James M. Lewis N.W. corner and stake 2 Black Gums & Dogwood pointers on Wm. Travis East line and Thos. Pattons S.W. Corner then runs East 28 poles to a stake 2 white oak & Dogwood pointers thence South one hundred and thirty three & one third poles to a Stake with white oak Beach and Maple pointers on the South line of the original Thence West 28 poles to a stake two Beach pointers on Wm. Travis South East corner thence North one hundred and thirty three & one third poles to the begining containing Seventy three and one third acres be the Same more or less being a part of a tract of land conveyed to James M. Lewis by P. T. Jones and by said James M. Lewis to Ed. Guinn I the aforesaid Ed. Guinn doth further convey and agree with the aforesaid William Travis that I am lawfully Seized of said land and has a Good right to convey the Same and that the Same is unincumbered and binds myself my heirs executors or Administrators to warrant and for ever defend the title to the aforesaid tract or par-cel of land with all and Singular the apperte-nances therunto belonging to him the aforesaid Wm. Travis his heirs or assigns forever against the lawful claim or claims of all persons what-ever and witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and affix my seal This 6th day of October 1857 Test D.
