Fowler Source: Gordon Browning Museum, McKenzie, Tennessee, Roll 126, Carroll County, Tennessee Deeds, Vol. G-H 1847-1852, Pg. 318 State of Tennessee, Carroll County I Tilman Johnson of the county of Weakley & state of Tennessee have this day sold and do now convey unto Josiah C. Fowler of the county of Carroll and State aforsaid to him his heirs and assigns forever for and in consideration of the Sum of two hundred and twenty Dollars to me in hand paid by the Said Josiah C. Fowler The receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged a certain tract of land situate in the county of Carroll on th waters of Demosses Creek in Range one and Section Three beginning on the North west corner of Entry No. 1005 for 1000 acres in the name of Darling Cherry and runs South Eighty poles to a Stake with 2 post oaks pointers thence west one hundred poles to a stake with black gum & red oak pointers Thence North eighty poles to a black oak with black gum & post oak pointers thence East one hundred poles to the beginning containing fifty acres and I covenant with the Said Josiah C. Fowler first that I am lawfully seized of said land & bargained premises Secondly that I have a good right to sell it and Thirdly that the same is unincumbered and that I will forever warrant and defend the title of the same to the said Josiah C. Fowler to him his heirs and assigns forever against the legal claim of my self my heirs Executors administrators and all and every person or persons whatsoever in Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the 22nd day of February 1849.
