W. White Source: Gordon Browning Museum, McKenzie, Tennessee, Roll 126, Carroll County, Tennessee Deeds, Vol. G-H 1847-1852, Pg. 318 State of Tennessee, Carroll County Know all men by these presents that I Tilman Johnson of the above named state Weakley County have sold and do hereby convey a tract of land lying in Carroll County and said State containing one hundred acres beginning East one hundred ninty and half poles from the wets boundary line at a stake two red oak pointers thence North one hundred and ninety three poles to a stake on Tipton line Thence East seventy four poles to a stake on Hamboroughs line thence South one hundred and forty four poles to a white oak corner two white oaks and a dogwood pointers thence East forty eight poles to the second North west corner of the Anderson Sons Thousand acre tract thence South fifty poles to white oak corner black oak and two white oak pointers thence west one hundred ninteen poles to the Beginning. The above described land lying in the Third Section & Second Range it being a part of the Douglass & Stone tract for the sum of two hundred Dollars to me in hand paid the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged for which consideration I bind myself my heirs & assigns to defend Said title to the said John W. White his heirs and assigns forever from any other person or persons in Witness whereof I do hereby set my hand and seal this the twenty third day of December eighteen hundred and forty seven.
