State of Tennessee Carroll County By virtue of Entry No. 557 dated the 29th day of June 1846 Founded on Twenty four dollars Eighty Seven and one half Cents in hand paid to the Entry Taker of Said county I have surveyed for Littleberry Gwin one hundred and ninety nine acres of land Situated in Said County in range 3 and Section 4 Beginning on a Tugalo gum with a large white oak Hornbeam & Holly pointers the North East corner of Entry No 1140 for 2560 acres in the name of the Presidents & Trustees of the University of N Carolina Running South with the East boundary of the Same 162 poles to a Small sweet gum with small red oak sweet gum & white oak pointers the north west corner of Entry No 348 for 132 acres in the name of Joseph King thence East with his North boundary crossing Beaver Creek at 105 poles runs to the left in all 132 poles to a stake with with pointers Said Kings North East corner & North west corner of his 77 acre tract & the South west corner of John Dixons 135 acre tract Thence north with Dixons west boundary crossing crooked creek in all 172 poles to a Stake Dixons North west corner on the South boundary line of Entry No 2144 for 640 acres in the name of James F. Dougherty thence west with the same 28 poles to a Stake with a beech white oak & 2 Holly pointers the South west corner of the same thence North crossing crooked creek at 3 poles runs to the left in all 87 poles to a stake thence west crossing crooked creek runs to the right in all 105 poles to a Stake thence South passing the north East corner of Entry No 52 for 35 acres in the name of John Norman at 30 poles crossing Beaver Creek at 70 poles runs to the right in all 97 poles to the Beginning Including Occupant Entry No. 2453 Surveyed the 21st day of October 1846 Allen Bowden James H.
