This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb by Jenny Penick Garner ===================================================================== Carroll County, TN Deeds Grantor: David McDonald Bk 3, Pg 449 Grantee: John Cooper Date: 18 Apr 1874 Land: Dis 3 This Indenture made and entered into between David McDonald of the one part and John Cooper of the other Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum of Six hundred and fifty dollars to me in hand paid the receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged I the aforesaid David McDonald hath this day bar gained and Sold and by these present doth bargain Sell and convey to John Cooper a certain tract or parcel of land in the County of Carroll & State of Tennesssee and in Civil Dist No. 3 and Bounded as follows, to wit, Beginning on a Stake large Spanish Oak and Black oak pointers Sam'l Smith N West corner and the west line of the Original grant No. 19071 for Six hundred acres and runs East 79 poles to a Small white oak with 3 White oaks for pointers on Jas S. Haggard South west corner thence West with the Same 85 poles to a Stake poplar dogwood & hickory pointers thence West 79 poles to a Stake with pointers thence South 85 poles to the beginning containing by estimation forty two and ½ acres be the Same more or less to have and to hold the same to him the said John Cooper his heirs or assigns forever. I do covenant and agree with him the said John Cooper that I am lawfully seized of said land and have a good right to convey the Same & that the Same is unencum bered and bind myself my heirs Executors Admr & c to war-rant and defend the title to the aforesaid tract of land with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging against the lawful claim or claims of all or any persons whatever.
