Barger, Register Received for Notation of change ownership on the Tax Assessment books of Carroll County, TN the 11th day of June 1957, Norine Taylor, Tax Assessor For and in Consideration of the sum of One hundred and no/100 dollars, $100.00, cash in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, we, W. D. McDonald and wife, Mrs. Josie McDonald, this day have bargained and sold, and by these presents do transfer and convey unto Charles Penick, his heirs and assigns, a certain tract or parcel land of in the 22nd Civil District, Carroll County, State of Tennessee, as follows: Being a tract or parcel of land lying and being situated between the white and colored cemetery and particularly described as follows: Beginning at a stake on the north boundary line on the new addition of McKenzie Cemetery, thence east 26 poles to a stake, thence north 1 ½ degrees west 17 poles to Negro Cemetery, thence west 7 3/5 poles, thence north 5 degrees east 9 3/5 poles, thence south 84 ½ degrees west 19 poles, thence south 1 ½ degrees east 24 poles to the beginning, containing by estimation 3.85 acres, more or less, and being the same lot or parcel of land deeded to W. D. McDonald by deed from Callie Johnson, et als, at the same appears of record in Deed Book 67, page 206, Registrar's Office for Carroll County, Tennessee. To hand and to hold the said tract or parcel of land, with the appurtenances, estate, title, and interest thereto belonging, to the said Charles Penick, his heirs and assigns, forever, And we do covenant with the said Charles Penick that we are lawfully seized and possessed of said land in fee simple; have a good right to convey it, and the same is unencumbered except for unpaid taxes, which grantee agrees to pay. And do further covenant and bind ourselves, our heirs and representatives, to warrant and forever defend the title to said land to the said Charles Penick heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever.
