I have this day sold and do hereby convey to John MORGAN and his assigns 
forever for the sum of thirteen hundred and forty seven dollars to me paid 
all my right, title, claims and interest ina a certain lot or parcel of 
slaves to wit, Nice __ __ __ is now in the possession of James LYON of 
Madison County Tennessee. Claricy, Judy, Creacy and Charles also the 
increase of Nice to wit Elias and Tom with all other increase that may or 
hereafter be or happen now in the possession of William ASKEY of Lauderdale 
County Tennessee I warrant the title to said slaves to said John MORGAN his 
heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons and I also 
warrant them to be sound and healthy and slaves for life this 15th day of 
August 1844. Interlined before signed the day and date above written.

Personally appeared before me Young W. ALLEN Clerk of the County Court of 
said County Stephen WARD with whom I am personally acquainted and who 
acknowledges that he signed the within for the purpose therein set forth 
and on the day it bears date. Given under my hand at office this 15th day 
of August 1844.
