This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Jenny Penick Garner ==================================================================== FHL Microfilm 0944081 Grantor: Samuel Woods Register Book, Carroll County, TN Grantee: Edward Busey Records Book A, Pg. 353 Date: 19 Nov 1823 Land: 12th Dis, Rng 3, Sec 4 This indenture made this nineteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three between Samuel Woods of the County of Carroll and state of Tennessee of the one part and Edward Busey of the County and state afore said of the other part witnesseth that the said Samuel Woods for and in consideration of the sum of Eight hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said Edward Busey the receipt where of is here by acknowledged hath and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell a lien in fer off convey and confirm unto the said Edward Busey his heirs and assigns forever a Tract or parcel of Land situated lying and being on clear Creek a branch of Obion river in the 12th surveyors District of the fourth section of the third range held by virtue of Entry No. 840 founded on Certificate No. 1775 offered by the board of commissioner for West Tennessee to James Adams for four hundred and fifty three acres and granted by the state of Tennessee to said James Adams and by him deeded to said Woods bearing date the 21st day of February 1823. To have and to hold the afore said bar gained premises with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtenances as there are to be longing or in any wise appertaining to the said Edward Busey his heirs Executors adminisrrators and assigns for ever and the said Samuel Woods for him self his heirs Executors administrators and assigns doth covenant agree to and with the said Edward Busey his heirs and that the before recited land and bargained premises with all and singular the right profits emoluments heredita ments and appertenances of in and to the same be longing or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said Edward Busey his heirs &c he will warrant and forever defend against the right title claim interest and demand of all and every person or persons whatsoever in testimony whereof the said Samuel Woods hath here unto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and above written. Signd seald and delivered in the Samuel Woods (Seal) presence of Anderson Gregory Hugh Hill State of Tennessee June Term 1826 Carroll County Court The with in deed of Bargain and sale from Samuel Woods to Edward Busey for four hundred and fifty three acres of land was produced in open court and the execution there of acknowledged by the said Woods to be his act and deed and ordered to be recorded a copy test.
