He was born in 1857 in New London, Connecticut. He was the son of Jonathan Latimer and Lucretia Griswold Latimer. He served in Colonel Jonathan Latimer's regiment Massachusetts troops in Burgoyne's Campaign. He married Abigail Fitch. He moved to Tennessee after the Revolution. Later before the 1840 census was published he had moved to Pope City, Arkansas, where he died.
