I George Highsaw of the County of Carroll and State of Tennessee Being in a perfect state of mind thanks be to God for the Same but calling to mind the mortality of my body and know that it is appointed for all men once to die do make this my last will and testoment followeth; First and principally of all I recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that give it and my body I recommend to Earth from whence it came and as touching such wourldly Estate as it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give and bequath in the following manner and for (to-wit), Itom 1. I give unto my wife Jane on nigro girl know by the name of Rachel also all the household furniture also the waggon and one yoke of steers and farming tools to have and to hold during her life and afterwards the following property to be Equally devided between my living children. Itom 2nd. I give and bequath unto my son James Crockett Hisaw an nigro Boy know by the name of Caswell to have and to hold the same. Itom 3rd. I give and bequath unto my Son Emanuel Hisaw one gray horse. Item 4th. I give and bequath unto my Son Fred Hisaw one dollar. Itom 5th I give unto my daughter Mary Hisaw one Horse. Itom 7th I give unto my daughter Nancy Henly one dollar. Itom 8th. I give unto my daughterin law Matty Hisaw fifty cents. Itom 9th I give unto my daughterin law Jane Hisaw fifty cents. Itom 10th I give unto my suninlaw Richard Hopkins fifty cents. My land which I now hold being occupant it is my wish that my son Crockett Should Save the same for the benefit of himself and the other children provided they will assist in saving the same. I do hereby appoint my Son James C. Hisaw whole and Sole Executor of this my last will and Testoment in witness whare of I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 19th day of December A.D. 1842.
