JOHNSON'S WILL State of Tennessee ) Carroll County) In the name of God Amen I Tarlton Johnson being in bad health and of perfect mind memory thanks be given unto God calling into mind the mortailty of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men to die do make do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul to God who gave it and my Body I Recommend to the earth to be Buried in decent christian Burial at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall Receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and from first I give bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Sally all & singular all the property by her to be enjoyed during her natural life and at her death to be divided as follows to Candis stanford I give twenty dollars to James M. Johnson I give twenty dollars to Turner parkers children to be divided between Jane Lizebeth I give one dollar to Sally W. Dildy I give twenty Dollars and the residue to my son Joseph A. Johnson for him to be fully possessed and enjoyed disallowing all persons having any claim or claimes to the same I disallow any person whatever by him to be possessed all and singular I give and bequeath A certain tract of Land lying in callarall County containing 120 acres be the same more or less by me willed & bequeathed ratifying confirming my last will and Testament in witness where I have hereun to set my hand and seal this 13th day April in year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred & fifty two.
