JAMES MANNING'S WILL

State of Tennessee Carroll County

I James Manning do make and publish this my last  will  and  testament  hereby
revoking and making void all other wills by me at any time made.

First I direct that my funeral expences and all my just debts be paid as  soon
after my death as possible out of any moneys that I my die possessed of or may
first come into the hands of my Executor.

Secondly I will that my Executor with the money that may come into  his  hands
from the collection of Notes on accounts or from the sale of any property that
I may die possessed of purchase a tract of  land  said  land  to  be  for  the
benefit and use of my beloved wife Broadie during her natural life and at  her
death to be equally divided among my children.

Thirdly whatever may remain either in money or  other  property  after  having
complied with the above I will that also to my wife Broadie.

Lastly I do I do hereby nominate and appoint my  brother  Michael  Manning  my
Executor in witness whereof I do to this my will set my  hand  and  seal  this
13th day of July 1852.

I James Manning do make and publish this Codicil to my last will and testament
whereas since I made my last will I have purchased a tract  of  land  in  this
(Carroll County) now after my decease should my beloved wife  Broadie  Manning
become dissatisfied and wishes to move from the neighbourhood where  the  land
is situated then my Executor shall have power  to  sell  said  land  and  make
conveyance thereof and shall with the proceeds thereof purchase other land for
the use and benefit of my wife Boradie and children as witness my hand &  seal
this day of 1852

This day was produced in open court a paper writing purporting to be the  last
will and Testament of James Manning senr the  same  was  duly  proven  by  the
testimony of J. M. Townes & A. J. Jones the Codicil by James H. Barham & A. B.
Gibbins witnesses subscriber thereto the same was ordered to be duly  recorded
of which the above is a copy test
