PATTERSON'S WILL In the name of God Amen. I Richard P. Patterson who Being now in my sound mind and proper senses But Being in feble health and Remembering that it is appointed unto all men once to Die And Being Desirous to Direct how the Earthly substance of which I have recently Become possessed which decended to me from the Estate of my Father and Mother Decd and has ever since been in the hands of my guardian until Recently when I became twenty one years of Age Doth make ordain and publish this my Last will and Testament. And First I will and bequeath to my Brother William E. Patterson my negro man Lewis My Saddle Bridle & Blanket and fifty Dollars in money to be paid over to him by my Executor whom I will hereafter appoint. Secondly I will and Bequeath to my Sister in law Viney Patterson my Clay Bank mare. Thirdly I will and bequeath to my youngest Brother Allen H. Patterson my negro girl Vincey and my fine wearing clothes and Trunk. Fourthley I will and bequeath to my Brother John H. Patterson my Bed - Bedstead and all my Bed clothing. Fifthly It is my desire that all my just Debts Should Be paid and my Funeral Expences then it is my Desire and will that all the Ballance of money that may Be and Remain Shal Be Equally Divided Between my three Brothers James A. H. Thomas A. and John H. Patterson Those and Share Alike Besides J. M. A. H. to have my Rifle gun and Thos. A. to have my Over coat and lastly it is my will and Desire that my negro man Lewis Shal have all my every day wearing clothes of all kinds including my two hats my Boots shoes and socks and I hereby nominate and appoint John Mc Donald my Executor to Execute this my last will and Testament. In Testimony whereof I in the presence of William Travis and Willis Roba doth hereunto Set my hand and affix my seal this the 6th day of November 1860. Richard P.
