This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Anonymous ==================================================================== William Blair's Will In the name of God Amen I William Blair of the State of Tennessee and County of Carroll being in bad health of body but of sound mind and memory and calling to mind that it is appointed unto all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in the following manner viz 1st. I recommend my soul to God who gave it hoping through the merits of Christ to shine with him in glory. 2ndly I will my body to the grave not doubting but what my Executors will bury it in a christian manner and as to this worldly estate with what it has pleased God to bless me I give and dispose of in the following manner viz Item 1st I will and bequeath to my son in law Frederick L.Moore the sum of Two Dollars. Item 2nd. I will and bequeath to my beloved Daughter Mary Moore (Deceased) five children the sum of five hundred Dollars to be equally divided but to remain in the hands of Thomas Williams and Benjamin Enloe their guardian untill they arrive at the age of Twenty one years. 3rdly I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Charity Blair the sum of one hundred dollars all my beds and bedding to dispose of as she best fit. I further will and bequeath to her the residue of my house hold and all my kitchen furniture and negor woman named Mime and all her increase the tract of land on which I now reside all my farming utensils one horse two cows and calves Eight head of hogs with a plentiful years provision to have and to hold during her life and then to be disposed of as I further will. I will that all my unbequeathed estate be sold. Item 4th. I will and beqeath all the rest of my estate to my two daughters Harriet Williams and Nancy Enloe after paying all just debts and supporting my old slave while she may live and further I William Blair do hereby ratify and confirm this my last will and testament and do hereby disannul all others heretofore made by me and further from a special confidence that I have in two of my beloved sons in law Thomas Williams and Benj.S. Enloe do hereby appoint them Executors of this my last will and testament fully ratifying and confirming all acts by them done. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this the 30th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred & forty Eight. Blair Deceased late of this county when the same was duly proven.
