Robert Wood's Last Will & Testament

I, Robert Wood of the County of Carroll & State of Tennessee being of sound &
perfect mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and Testament in
manner and form following. First I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Anna
my Dwelling hous and home plantation and farming utentials with all the
appertainance thereunto belonging and my Gray mare during her natural life,
then to be sold and the proceeds thereof divided equally amongst all my
children. I do also will and bequeath to my son George one young gray horse
and forty eight dollars in money to be paid to him next January this being the
amount which I gave to my four oldest Children James, Polly Tamblin & Allen. I
do also will and bequeath to my son John a horse to be given him at the age of
Twenty one equal in value to what George is now and forty eight dollars to be
given him at the same time. I do also will & bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth
a bed and furniture eaqual in Value to what I gave my two oldest daughters,
also a horse eaqual to theirs and forty eight dollars in money to be given her
at the age of Twenty one or when she marries I do also will to my Daughter
Aveline one horse bed & furniture eaqual in value to Elizabeth and forty eight
dollars in money to be given her at the age of twenty one or at her marriage I
also will to my son Robert one horse eaqual in Value to the other boys & forty
eight dollars in money to be given him when he is twenty one years of age,
likewise fifteen dollar in money to be appropriated to scholling him. I also
will that a hundred and fifty acres of land joining my home tract with an
improvement of sixteen acres be rented out and the proceeds to be divided
equally amongst all my children and at the death of my wife to be sold with
the other unappropriated property and equally divided amongst all my children.
I also will to my daughter Frances twenty eight dollars in money to make her
part equal to my other daughters. I also will to my son George and the four
youngest children John, Elizabeth, Avelina & Robert one cow and calf each to
be given them at the same time of their other legacy. I also will to by
beloved wife Anna three cows & calves and after paying all my lawful debts the
rest of my property not bequeathed in my will to be sold and equally divided
amongst all my children. It is my request that my wife Anna & my sons Allen &
George be executors of this my last will & testament in witness whereof I set
my hand and affix my seal this 10th day of July, 1834.

This day was produced in open court the last will & Testament of Robert Wood,
Decd. and the execution thereof was duely proven by George Wood & William Mc
Cutchen, the subscribing witnesses thereto & ordered to be recorded Whereupon
Anna Wood one of the Executors mentioned in said will come into court and took
the oaths required by law with Jesse S. Watton Mothenas Bighane & Andrew Neely
her securities in the sum on one thousand Dollars & took letters Testamentory
accordingly.
