Woods of the County of Carroll State of Tennessee being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish and declaim this to be my last will and Testament that is to say First. After all my debts are paid I give unto my beloved wife Mary my negro boy Bradford according to the written agreement between her and myself the nature of this give to be determined by Refference to said Agreement. I then wish all my children to share equally in the remainder of my Estate. In makin a Division of said remainder the following items must be taken into account towit My Daughter R. Lanier has received from me the sum of one Thousand Dollars My Daughter Cassandra Jones has received one Thousand Dollars My daughter Mary Harris one Thousand Dollars My son William H. Woods one Thousand Dollars My son James Seven hundred and fifty Dollars all of which sums must be charged to them as so much of my estate received by them. I then allow my other children to wit, George Ann John I Andrew and Levi to have each a sum of money out of my Estate over and above an equal division with the balance of my heirs sufficient to finish their education to wit my daughter George Ann the sum of one hundred and twenty Dollars. To Andrew the sum of three hundred dollars And to Levi the sum of four Hundred and twenty Dollars should there be a lack of means to pay my debts and to pay these allowances to the last named arising from the sale of my personal effects my executors will retain my farm for rent and the negroes for hire untill deficiency is made up and after all these payments are made my Executors are hereby empowered to sell any and all of my real estate in such parcels as they may think best and to make title to purchasers without orders from any of the courts. My negroes I allow to be divided among my children and in making this division I wish families to regarded as much as possible. I also give to my daughter George my piano over and above her equal share in my Estate all my children that are of age being present and consenting to it likewise I make constitute and appoint Legrand M. Jones my son James D. Wood My brother Lary H. Woods and my friend W. W. Herron to be Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal the twenty seventh day of October Eighteen hundred & fifty seven L.
