Alexander F. Morton Bible.  Alexander F. Morton arrived in Carter County, 
Tennessee around 1817.  He was in North Carolina (possibly Montgomery County) 
before moving to Carter County.  His birth place is uncertain.  In the 1880 
Carter County Census, his surviving children place him in either Virginia, 
North Carolina or South Carolina.  This Bibile is currently owned by Peggy 
Oliver Smith of Hampton, Tennessee.  I have been able to see the Bible on two 
occasions and have copied the entries as accurately as possible.
