Contributor's Note:  The DeLoach Cemetery is located on DeLoach Road, 
off of Siam Road, about one mile from Elizabethton. DeLoach families 
have lived in that area since the late 1840's.  This cemetery was 
visited and surveyed by Lisa DeLoach Waldman in August 1995.  
Additionally, DeLoach families who live adjacent to the old cemetery 
were queried concerning ancestors who were buried there.

BOWERS, John A. - Born 1877, died 1944.  Husband of Angeline DeLoach, 
who was the daughter of Phebe DeLoach.  Phebe was the unmarried daughter 
of John and Phebe DeLoach.
BOWERS, Bessie - Born Aug 1892, died 1963.  Daughter of John Bowers and 
Angeline DeLoach.
BOWERS, John P. - Born 1949, died 1962.
BOWERS, Carol R. - Born 1939, died 1942.
BOWERS, William H. - Born 8 Sep 1905, died 15 Jul 1981.
BOWERS, Violet - Born and died, 24 May 1983.
BOWMAN, William - Born 1895, died 20 Aug 1957.
BUCHANAN, Vickie Lee - Born 12 Oct 1957, died 19 Oct 1957.
DELOACH, David - Born 10 Aug 1875, died 12 Dec 1945.  Son of Nathan and 
Elizabeth Grindstaff DeLoach.
TREADWAY, Elizabeth - Born 1913, died 5 June 1961.  Wife of James Alfred 
DeLoach.
DELOACH, Fred Howard - Born 1930, died 1948.
DELOACH, James - Born 15 May 1864, died 26 May 1909.  Son of Phebe 
DeLoach.
DELOACH, Julia - Born 1938, died 1938.  Moved from Williams Cemetery 
(see note at bottom).  Reburied 23 Jun 1947.  Infant child of Mike 
DELOACH and Lockie Whaley DeLoach.
DELOACH, Lue - Born 1937, died 1937.  Same as above.
DELOACH, Stella - Born 1939, died 1939.  Same as above.
DELOACH, Rebecca - Born 1940, died 1940.  Same as above.
DELOACH, Tom - Born 1907, died 1925.  Same as above.  Brother of Mike 
DeLoach.
COLLINS, Margaret Josephine "Maggie" - Born 7 Mar 1887, died 19 Feb 
1948.  Wife of David DeLoach.
GRINDSTAFF, Paul - Born 17 Oct 1911, died 8 Dec 1979.
GRINDSTAFF, Della Mae - Born 19 Mar 1916, died 24 Dec 1990.
McCONNEL, Myrtle M. - Born 17 Mar 1907, died 2 Feb 1958.  Wife of David 
Andrew DeLoach.
DELOACH, Veria B. - Born 1932, died 1932.  Infant child of Ben Roy 
DeLoach and Venia Carver DeLoach.
DELOACH, William T. - Born 17 Aug 1918, died in WW II, 23 Oct 1944.
DELOACH, James Alfred - Born 8 Jul 1906, died 21 Oct 1980.  Son of David 
DeLoach and Maggie Collins DeLoach.
DELOACH, Charles Jack - Born 27 Dec 1935, died 23 Mar 2001.  Son of James 
Alfred Deloach and Elizabeth Treadway.
DELOACH, Daniel Andrew - Born 5 Feb 1909, died 27 Sep 1993.  Same as 
above.
DELOACH, Nathan - Born 1814, died before 1910.  Simple gravestone, no 
markings.  Son of John and Phebe DeLoach.
GRINDSTAFF, Elizabeth - Born Sep 1843, died before 1920.  Simple 
gravestone. no markings.  Wife of Nathan DeLoach.
SCALF, Chester - Born 19 Jun 1934, died 21 Sep 1992.
DELOACH, Harry - Born 20 Mar 1943, died 2 May 1990.
DELOACH, Larry - Born 20 Mar 1943, died 22 Sep 1991.
LEWIS, Barbara C. - Born 20 Aug 1936, died 1 Sep 1994.
KYTE, Melissa Kay - Born 1966, died 1966.
JESSEE, William B. - Born 21 Jun 1964, died 4 Oct 1996.

Note - The Watauga Dam and Lake was a project of the Tennessee Valley 
Authority (TVA), which was completed in 1947.  Before the water of the 
Watauga River was impounded, the TVA searched the area for cemeteries 
which would be covered by the water.  Next of kin were contacted 
wherever possible, and the remains were reinterred in accordance with 
their wishes.
