Wednesday 5th March 1851 Came Albert J. Tipton Sheriff and Tax Collector of the Public Taxes for Carter County and made the following report which is in words and figures as follows Viz. State of Tennessee Carter County I Albert J. Tipton Sheriff an [sic] Collector of the public Tax for Carter County do hereby report to the Court the following tracts of land as having been given for Taxes for the year 1850 that the Tax thereon remains due and unpaid and the respective owners or claimants thereof have no goods or chattles within my County on which I can distrain for said Taxes.
