Morefield at Buffalo Institute (now Milligan College), Carter Co, TN to the school's president, Josephus Hopwood. This letter concerns building being done at the school Buffalo Inst. July 17, 1879 Mr. J. Hopwood: Dear Sir, I received your letter some days ago and failed to answer sooner. I am hauling wood to the Inst. at present haven't hauled any to the brick yard yet but will haul there next week. The hands all left here yesterday morning for home except Bird. Prof. I want you to send me an order to Mr. Harr for (150) one dollar and fifty cts and one to Mrs. Birdwell for fifty cts if you please and if there is anything between us when I quit work I will make it all right if you send the orders. Send just as soon as you get this letter for I think I will go home the first of week after next and want pay them before I leave. You asked me what I was doing on Lord's day.
