This indenture made and entered into on this 29th day of November 1894 by and between NANCY ARCHER, REBECCA ESTEP and husband ISAAC ESTEP, JOHANNA PETERS and husband G.F. PETERS of the County of Carter State of Tennessee of the first part and Peter B. Elliott of the above county and State of the second part, witnesseth that the parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and forty dollars in hand paid by the said party of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have this day bargained and sold and by these presents do hereby bargain sell transfer and convey unto the party of the second part certain tract of parcel of land situated lying and being in the 12th civil district of Carter County Tennessee and known as a part of the John Archer decd tract of land and it being all the interest that the said parties of the first part have in the said part of John Archer decd tract of land and the land herein conveyed is bounded as follows (to wit). Beginning on a stake on Joseph Elliotts line thence south 56 deg. East 58 poles to a black oak now down thence north 11 poles to a red oak thence north 16 ½ deg. East 28 ½ poles to a beech thence east 27 poles to a ????? wood thence north 14 deg. East 14 poles to a stake thence north 23 ½ deg. west 28 poles to a stake thence north 52 deg. west 65 ½ poles to a black oak thence north 85 deg. west 22 poles to a stake thence west 18 poles to a stake then south 10 deg. east 90 poles to the beginning containing 44 ½ acres more or less to have and to hold the same unto the said Peter B. Elliott party of the second part his heirs and assigns in fee simple forever and the parties of the first part convenant with the party of the second part that they are lawfully seized and possessed of said land have a good right to convey the same and that the same is unimcumbered and the party of the first part do further covenant and bind themselves their heirs and representatives to forever warrant and defend the title to said land to the party of the second part his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. PETERS and bargainors with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that they executed the within instrument for the purposes therein contained and REBECCA ESTEP and JOHANNA PETERS wives of the said ISAAC ESTEP and JOHANNA (believe the writer of this document made a mistake as should have entered G.F. Peters) PETERS having personally appeared before me privately and apart from their husbands and said REBECCA ESTEP & JOHANNA PETERS acknowledged the execution of said deed to have been done by them freely voluntarily and understandingly without compulsion or constraint from said husbands and for the purposes therein expressed.
