H. Giles, M. E. Giles, Ruben Brown, Minnie Brown and J. Hopwood of the first part and Geo. W. Venner of the second part witnesseth that for a valuable consideration in had paid and the further consideration of perfecting the title to the property herein conveyed we the first named parties transfer and convey to the second named party all the right title claim and interest we have in and to the following desort bed lot or parcel of land lying in the fifth civil district of Carter County Tenn. In the town of Milligan near the South end of the Iron Bridge bounded as follows on the North by Buffalo Creek on the South West by Public road and Bridge South East by J. Hopwood beginning at a stake in the edge of the road at the south east corner on a line with the front of James R. Britt's Store house but dropping back towards the creek 4 feet from said front and a distance of 22 ˝ twenty two and one half feet from said Britts line thence with Hopwood to the middle of the creek thence up the creek 18 ft. eighteen ft. thence a parallel line with Hopwood to the edge of the public road thence 18 eighteen ft. to the beginning. To have and to hold the same unto the second party his heirs and assigns and we bind ourselves to warrant and defend the title thereto witness our hands this the 27th day of March 1896. W. H.
