This Indenture made the 21st day of March in the year of our lord one thousand
Seven hundred and Eighty Six Between Mathew Tolbot of the one part and Michael
Hider of the other part   Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum
of fourteen pounds to the said Tolbot in hand paid by the said Michael Hider
at or before the sealing and Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof He
doth hereby acknowledge and therefore doth Release acquit and Discharge the
said Mathew Tolbot  his heirs his Executors and administrators by these
presents he the said Mathew Tolbot hath Bargained granted sold aliened and
Confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain Sell alien and confirm unto
the Said Michael Hider and his heirs and Executors Certain piece or parcel of
land situate lying and being in the County of Washington and State of North
Carolina on a small Draught of the Buffeloe Creek  bounded as follows
Beginning at two Dogwood Trees in the said Michael Hider’s thence North thirty
three Degrees East forty four poles to a white oak thence North seventy eight
poles to a white oak on the top of a ridge thence south Seventy two Degrees
west eighty two poles to a Red oak on the said ridge thence south sixty
Degrees west sixty two poles to a white oak thence south thirty Degrees west
thirty poles to a white oak in the said Hider’s line thence with his line
south sixty two Degrees east one hundred and thirty two poles to the Beginning
Containing sixty four and three fourth acres more or less to have and to hold
all houses Buildings orchards ways waters watercourses profits Commodities
Heredatements and appurtenances whatsoever to the said premises  hereby
granted or any part thereof  belonging  or in any wise appurtaining and the
Reversion and reversions Remainder and Remainders rents Issues and profits
thereof and also all Estate right Title Interest use trust  Claims Demands
whatsoever of him the said Mathew Tolbot of in and to the said premises and
also Deeds Evidences  & Writings touching or in any wise Concerning the same
To have and to hold the lands hereby conveyed and all and singular other the
premises  hereby Bargained and sold and every part and parcel thereof  with
their and every of their appurtenances unto the said Michael Hider his heirs
and assigns forever to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Michael
Hider and of his heirs and assigns forever and the said Mathew Tolbot for
himself his heirs Executors and administrators doth covenant promise and grant
to and with the said Michael Hider his heirs and assigns by these presents
that he the said Mathew Tolbot now at the time of sealing and Delivery of
these presents is seized of a good sure perfect and Indefeasable ? Estate of
Inheritance in fee simple of and in the said premises hereby Bargained and
sold and that he has good power and lawful and absolute authority to grant and
convey the same to the said Michael Hider  in manner and form afforesaid and
that the said premises now are and so shall forever hereafter Remain and be
free and Clear of and from all former gifts grants  Bargains seals Dower
Rights  and Title of Dower Judgements Executions Titles Troubles Charges and
Encumbrances whatsoever made Done Committed or suffered by the said Mathew
Tolbot or any other person or persons whatsoever and that the said Mathew
Tolbot and his heirs and singular the premises  hereby Bargained and sold with
the appurtenances unto the said Michael [ Tolbot crossed out Hider inserted]
his heirs and assigns and against him the said Mathew Tolbot  and his heirs
and all and every person and persons  whatsoever shall Warrant and Defend
forever  by these presents in Witness whereof the said Mathew Tolbot have
hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and Date above written
Signed Sealed and Delivered in presence of  Joseph Tipton, Richard Kite,
Philemon Lacey
