Deed from Eleanor and Isaac Kite to Michael Hyder
150 acres, 1820
Carter County, TN 

This Indenture made and entered into this Twenty Eighth day of August one 
thousand eight hundred and twenty between Isaac Kite and Eleanor Kite of the 
County of Carter and State of Tennessee of the one part and Michael Hyder of 
the County and State afforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said 
Isaac Kite and Eleanor Kite for and in consideration of the Sum of one 
Thousand dollars to them in hand paid before the sealing and delivering of 
these Presents and the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and themselves 
contented and paid by the said Michael Hyder have this day bargained sold and 
doth by these presents do grant bargain sell alien enscoff convey and confirm 
to the said Michael Hyder a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the 
County and State afforesaid on the Waters of Gap Creek and is bounded as 
follows 
Beginning at a small white oak on William Sharp’s line running East one 
hundred  and eighty eight poles to a stake and black oak pointer thence South 
one hundred and forty poles to a chestnut, thence South fifty five degrees 
West one hundred poles to a small Beech thence North twenty seven degrees West 
two hundred and forty poles to the beginning Containing one hundred and fifty 
acres be the same more or less to have and to hold the above described land 
and premises thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining  unto the said 
Michael Hyder his Heirs and assigns for Ever as a shure and indefeasable Rite 
of Inheritance in fee Simple also the Reversion and reversions, remainder and 
remainders, rents issues and profits thereunto belonging without let trouble 
or interruption of them the said Isaac and Eleanor Kite their heirs or assigns 
and they the said Isaac Kite and Eleanor Kite doth Covenant and agree to and 
with the said Michael Hyder that they the said Isaac and Eleanor Kite will 
warrant and forever defend  the above described land and premises unto the 
said Michael Hyder his heirs and assigns forever from them their heirs and all 
other persons claiming or to claim by from or under them the said Isaac  and 
Eleanor Kite or otherwise under title or colour of title whatsoever.  In 
testimony whereof we have  hereunto set our hands and seals the day and year 
first above written

State of Tennessee Carter County February Session one thousand eight hundred 
and twenty one the within Deed was exhibited and acknowledged  in open Court 
by Isaac Kite and continued for the acknowledgement or the probet on the part 
of Ellender Kite

State of Tennessee Carter County May Session one thousand eight hundred and 
twenty one the foregoing Deed was Exhibited and proven in open Court by Andrew 
Ferguson and Joshua Perkins two subscribing witnesses on the part of Ellender 
Kite and admitted to the Record.  Let it be registered.

State of Tennessee Carter County   The within Deed with the Certificates were 
duly registered in the Register’s Office of Carter County this eleventh day of 
May A D 1822.
