Joseph Taylor This indenture made this 16th day of August in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy five between Joshua and Elizabeth Williams of the one part and W. C. Giles of the other both of the county of Carter and state of Tennessee witnesseth that the said Joshua and Elizabeth Williams for and in consideration of thirty seven and a half dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged they the said first party hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth wipeoff and convey to said Giles one acre of land in the county and state aforesaid on the waters of Buffalo beginning on a stake in the middle of the road thence south 70 ½ degrees west, 8 poles to a stake thence south 10 ½ degrees east 14 ½ poles to a stake thence north 70 ½ degrees east 14 ¼ poles to a stake thence north 40 degrees west 16 poles and 3 linke to the beginning adjoining the land of Barker G. T. and Joshua Williams known as the Sand Ha Lot which tract of land with all its appeatenances the said Williams and wife for themselves and heirs doth warrant and will forever defend to the said Giles his heirs and assigns as an indefiasible inheritance infere simple in witness whereof we the said first party have hereunto set our hands and afixed our seal, the day and date above written signed sealed and delivered in the presence of witness W.
