Adams Mrs. Dorothy Marie Adams, 72, 510 Johnson Ave., Elizabethton, died Sunday, February 10, 2002, at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Roby and Arie Black McNeal. She was a Christian and attended many area churches. Mrs. Adams was a former restaurant employee and a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Harry N. Adams of the home; one daughter, Barbara Johnson of Hampton; one grandson and his wife, Tony and Tammy Slagle of Elizabethton; one great granddaughter, Brittany Slagle of Elizabethton; three sisters, Zora McNeal and Martha Crain, both of Elizabethton, and Bertha Pryton of Kentucky; five brothers, George McNeal, Cecil McNeal, Fred McNeal, and Noble McNeal, all of Elizabethton, and Odell McNeal of Hickory, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. www.funeral-plans.com/Tetrick ADAMS - Funeral services for Dorothy Marie Adams, 72, 510 Johnson Ave., Elizabethton, who died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, with the Rev. Carl Guinn and Rev. Johnny Vance officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Highland Cemetery in Elizabethton. Active pallbearers will be Dana Markland, Charlie Joe McNeal, Steve McNeal, Mark Adams, Tony Slagle, G.W. McNeal, and Dennis Blevins. Honorary pallbearers will be Beau McKinney, Roger Evans, Cecil McNeal, Noble McNeal, Odell McNeal, Fred McNeal, and George McNeal. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, at the residence, 510 Johnson Ave., Elizabethton, or at the residence of her daughter, Barbara Johnson, 228 Carl Smith Rd., Hampton, at any time.
