Aldridge Mrs. Margaret Ruth Meredith Aldridge, 72, 175 Nickajack Road, Mableton, Ga., died Monday, June 12, 2000, at her residence. Mrs. Aldridge was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Claude and Geneva Hyder Meredith. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Claude Meredith Jr., Lloyd Meredith and Kenneth Meredith. Mrs. Aldridge was a graduate of Happy Valley High School and a 1952 graduate of East Tennessee State College. She had taught school for a number of years at Happy Valley High School, Unaka High School and Hampton High School. She had lived in Mableton for three years, and prior to that had lived in North Carolina and California. She was a member of Smyrna Christian Church, Smyrna, Ga., and a member of the Hampton Chapter #470, Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, James Hoyt Aldridge; two sons and daughters-in-law, James Hoyt Aldridge II and Katie Aldridge, Walhalla, S.C., and Timothy Claude and Leslie Aldridge, Mableton, Ga.; a daughter and son-in-law, Julia Geneva and William Menyhay, Clovis, Calif.; a brother, Roy Gene Meredith, Jacksonville, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Destiny Rebecca Aldridge, Walhalla, S.C., Timothy Hoyt Aldridge, Mableton, Ga., and Adam-Ross Menyhay, Clovis, Calif. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. ALDRIDGE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Ruth Meredith Aldridge, 72, 175 Nickajack Road, Mableton, Ga., who died Monday, June 12, 2000, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, June 16, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Jack Hyder officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be James Hoyt Aldridge II, Timothy Claude Aldridge, Leo Meredith, Martin Meredith, Keith Pate and Tom Meredith. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of Monty Aldridge or Gerell Cable in Hampton or Peggy Meredith in Elizabethton. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
