Miss Andrews was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Joseph and Myrtle Clawson Andrews. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Isaacs and Wilma Andrews, and four brothers, Ray Andrews, Bobby G. Andrews, Hugh Andrews and Floyd Allen Andrews. Miss Andrews was a member of Elk Mills Christian Church. She was a Nannie to several of her nieces and nephews. Survivors include three sisters, Edith Phillips, Mabel Hardin and Lois Whisnant, all of Elizabethton, and three brothers, Gurney Andrews and Claude Andrews, both of Butler, and Ernest Andrews, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. ANDREWS -- Graveside services for Miss Ruth Andrews, 74, 259 Dye Leaf Road, Butler, who died Saturday, December 9, 2000, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, in the Clawson Cemetery with Mr. John H. Smith, minister, officiating. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers will be selected from nephews and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Tony Haley, Dr. Keith J. DeVos, Dr. Charles Cole, Dr. Floyd Barker, Dr. Paul Brown, James Neece, Brandon Neece, Orville Marlowe and her great-nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence.
