CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Harry E. Arnett, 8 Dec 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Mr. Harry Edwin Arnett, 85, 310 East C Street, Elizabethton, died Monday, December 8, 2003 at his residence following a lengthy illness. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Christopher and Mary Alice Walker Arnett. He was retired from the American Bemberg Corporation after more than 30 years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a former member of the Captain Lynn H. Folsom V.F.W. Post #2166 and of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Mark Arnett. Survivors include his wife, Edna Johnson Arnett, of the home; a son and daughter- in-law, Chris and Sue Arnett, Elizabethton; a daughter, Jan Cox, Elizabethton; a sister, Georgia Arnett Williams, Johnson City; three grandsons, Alan Arnett, of Winchester, Va., James Arnett and his wife Denise, Bluff City; Neil Arnett, Elizabethton; three great-grandchildren; two foster grandchildren, James Ausburne and Misty Ausburne, both of Elizabethton; two sisters-in-law, Frances Bryant, of Baytown, Texas and Betty Jo Hinkle and her husband Charles, of Flint, Mich.. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside service for Mr. Harry Edwin Arnett will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2003 in the Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Brent Nidiffer, minister officiating. Friends may call at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2003 or 8 a.m. to noon on Friday, December 12, 2003 or at the residence, 310 East C Street, Elizabethton, at any time. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. on Friday. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Carter County Rescue Squad, P. O.
