Jewell L. Arnold

   Jewell Lyons Arnold, 75, 188 Danner Road, Elizabethton, died 
unexpectedly Thursday, December 28, 2000, at Johnson City Medical Center.
   Mrs. Arnold was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the 
late Charlie and Sallie Roberts Lyons. She was also preceded in death 
by her husband, Paul F. Arnold, September 17, 1981, three brothers, Carl, 
Glen and Cecil Lyons, and a sister, Omalee Shoun.
   Mrs. Arnold was a member of Unaka Baptist Church. She was a retired 
employee of North American Rayon Corporation.
   Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, J.D. and Debra Arnold, 
Elizabethton; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Jerry Grindstaff, 
Elizabethton; an only grandchild, Rachel Grindstaff, Elizabethton; a 
step-grandson, Kenny Stout, Elizabethton; eight sisters-in-law, Belle 
Lyons, Violet Lyons, Nina Lyons, Fronia Davis, Eliza Moore, Aratta Norris 
and spouse, Elige, Selda Wilson and Tulva Arnold, all of Elizabethton; and 
a brother-in-law and spouse, Herman and Edith Arnold, Elizabethton. Several 
nieces and nephews also survive.

   ARNOLD -- Funeral services for Jewell Lyons Arnold, 75, 188 Danner Road, 
Elizabethton, who died Thursday, December 28, 2000, will be conducted at 
8 p.m. Friday, December 29, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 
with the Rev. Walker Roberson and the Rev. Bill Ferguson officiating. 
Music will be under the direction of David Arney, pianist, special piano 
solo, Rachel Grindstaff, granddaughter, Shelia Nidiffer, soloist, and John 
Blair, soloist. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 
30, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Taylor, 
Gary Arnold, Joe Williams, Larry Nidiffer, Bennie Duke, Les Grindstaff, 
Tom McCloud and Paul Beal. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Weingart 
and Dr. Clifford Weigand. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 9:15 
a.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive 
friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also call 
at the residence, 188 Danner Road, Elizabethton, any time. Those who prefer 
memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the National Kidney 
Foundation, East Tennessee, Inc., P.O. Box 1135, Blountville, Tenn. 37617.
