Nannie L. Asbury

Nannie Lee Asbury, 93, formerly of 108 West I Street, Elizabethton, 
died Thursday, December 4, 2003, in the Ivy Hall Nursing Home 
following an extended illness. A native of Princeton, W.Va., she 
was the daughter of the late Thomas and Rose Lee Underwood Asbury. 
She was retired as a salesperson from Tate's Clothing Store. She 
was a member of First Christian Church of Elizabethton for over 60 
years. 
She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Asbury; one sister 
and brother-in-law, Frances and Pete Carriger; and one nephew, Gary 
Asbury. Survivors include one sister, Marie Asbury, Elizabethton; a 
niece and her husband, Marcheta and Liston Lane, Colonial Heights, 
Va; and a great-niece, Audra Lane, Colonial Heights, Va. 
Graveside service for Nannie Lee Asbury will be conducted at 2:30 
p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2003, in the Happy Valley Memorial Park 
with Mr. John Smith and Mr. Joel Stauffer, ministers, officiating. 
Active pallbearers will be Jim Hughes, Jimmy Hughes, Bob McCullen, 
Jack Kyte, Carroll Boone and John Rominger. Honorary pallbearers 
will be Clyde Broyles, Mark Broyles, Tim Broyles, Curt Emmert, 
friends and neighbors and the Staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home. 
The family will receive friends at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home from 
6-7:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2003, or at the residence of a 
sister, Marie Asbury, 600 Marietta Avenue, Elizabethton, at any time. 
For those who desire, memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to 
their favorite charity. 
Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 2 p.m. on Sunday to go 
in procession to the cemetery.
