Austin 11/08/99 Mrs. Lois Chambers Austin, 84, 251 Short Coal Chute Road, Elizabethton, died Thursday, November 4, 1999, at Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness. Mrs. Austin was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Charles and Josie Braswell Chambers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, G.C. Austin, in 1995, a brother, Clarence Chambers, a grandson, Chad McKeehan, and her stepfather, George Henegar. Mrs. Austin was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation and a member of Millers Grove Church. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Mildred Harrell and Patsy and Ralph Mullis, all of Elizabethton; a son, Charles Austin, Elizabethton; three sisters, Pearl Babb, Dorothy Andes and Mary Henegar, all of Elizabethton; four granddaughters, Connie Collins and Maggie Austin, both of Elizabethton, Regina Tucker and Patti Townsend, both of Johnson City; four grandsons, Ron Harrell, Johnson City, Bill Austin, Elizabethton, Charles Austin II, Elizabethton, and Eddie Miller, St. Louis, Mo.; two special nieces, Sue Arnett and Kathy Henegar; and two special nephews, Roger Henegar and Carl Henegar. Ten great-grandchildren and several other nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. AUSTIN -- Funeral services for Mrs. Lois Chambers Austin, 84, 251 Short Coal Chute Road, Elizabethton, who died Thursday, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mack Houston officiating. Richard Cannon and Darrin Livingston will provide the music. Interment will be in the Centerview Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:50 p.m. Sunday, will be Ron Harrell, Bill Austin, Charles Austin II, Eddie Miller, Andrew Harrell, Bud Hicks, Steve Townsend, Gary Tucker, Bobby Collins, Roger Henegar and Carl Henegar. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Chambers, Gregory Chambers, Ron Babb, Don Babb, Horace Babb, Chris Arnett, James Arnett, Neil Arnett, Brian Andes, Mike Andes and Dr. Daniel Merrick. The family received friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
