Maggie E. Babb 


    Maggie Ellen Hubbard Babb, 82, 187 Big Springs Road, Elizabethton, passed 
away Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. 


    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late William Austin 
and Geneva Lyons Hubbard. 


    Mrs. Babb had been employed for 35 years at Bemberg Corporation and North 
American Rayon Corporation. She was a member of Prayer Tabernacle. 


    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, 
Alfred J. Babb, June 25, 2003; a grandson, Mark "Bam-Bam" Babb; a 
granddaughter, Stephanie Babb; two sisters, Stella Sizemore and Anne Hambrick; 
and a brother, Bill Hubbard. 


    Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Carol Babb, 
Bobby and Judy Babb and Mike and Elaine Babb, all of Elizabethton; two 
grandsons, Tony Babb, Rocky Point, N.C., and David Babb, Elizabethton; four 
granddaughters, Tina English, Sherry Perry, Raquel Hoilman and Wendy Wagner, 
all of Elizabethton; four great-grandsons and nine great-granddaughters; four 
brothers, Alfred Hubbard and Ricky Hubbard, both of Elizabethton, Luther 
Hubbard, Johnson City, and Jerry Hubbard, of Arizona; and four sisters, Mary 
Coleman, Shelby Crawford and Brenda Poteat, all of North Carolina, and 
Charlotte Hyder, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 


    Funeral services for Mrs. Babb will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 
17, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Greg Wagner and the Rev. Shannon 
Hoilman officiating. Music will be provided by Shannon Hoilman, Olivia Babb, 
Barbara Trent and Richard and Patsy Wagner. Graveside services and interment 
will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 18, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. 
Active pallbearers will be Tony Babb, David Babb, Mikey Hoilman, Michael 
Perry, Carl Roberts and Barry English. The family will receive friends from 6 
to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence 
of Bobby and Judy Babb, 1050 Gap Creek Road, Elizabethton. Family and friends 
will assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery. 
The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Sycamore Shoals 
Hospital and Ivy Hall Nursing Home for all their love and care. Condolences to
