Mrs. Bartz was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late W.S. and Emma Cox Febuary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Charles B. Hyatt, a sister, Maggie Loebsack, and a brother, Stewart Febuary. Mrs. Bartz was a member of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church and a former employee of Bemberg and North American Rayon Plants. She had a special love for crocheting. Survivors include her husband, William F. Bartz Jr., Ret. U.S. Navy, of the home; three daughters, Linda Gail Campbell of Johnson City, Carol Lynn Staples of Norfolk, Va., and Deborah Ann Carlson of Stephenson, Mich.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby Joe and Glenda Hyatt and William D. and Christina Bartz, all of Elizabethton; a sister, Betty Ralph of Elizabethton; and four brothers, William Febuary of Hampton, Va., Charles L. Febuary of Elizabethton, Morris Febuary of Hampton, Va., and John L. Febuary, Hampton, Va. Fifteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral services for Mrs. Bartz will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 10, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Stout officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Pleasant Beach Baptist Church Quartet. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service, or at the residence, 608 Locust Street, Lot 10, Elizabethton, at anytime. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, September 11, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mark Roberts, Carlos Cox, Stacey Adams, Brad Shepard, Steve Hyatt and Jeffrey Livingston. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Hyatt, Rod Hill, Joe Woods, Earl Cox and Daniel Roberts. Those planning to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Monday to go in procession to the cemetery. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the American Cancer Society, c/o Helen Wilson, 209 S. Riverside Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
