Burle John Berry 


    Burle John Berry, 77, 915 Maple Drive, Griffin, Ga., died Tuesday, March 
4, 2008, in the Sunbridge Nursing Home, Griffin, after an extended illness. 


    A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Burns John and Irene 
Simerly Berry. He had lived in Georgia for the past 30 years. 


    Mr. Berry was a graduate of Hampton High School and East Tennessee State 
College. He was a retired chemical salesman for the Textile Industries. 


    Mr. Berry served in the United States Air Force during the Korean 
Conflict. He was a member of the Hampton First Baptist Church. 


    Survivors include his wife, Louise Teague Berry; three daughters and their 
spouses, Dr. Ann Berry and Dr. Jimmy Stephens and Kim and Mike Mason, all of 
Atlanta, Ga., and Kathryn and Craig Ross, St. Simons Island, Ga.; and two 
sons, Dr. Keith Berry and his wife Suzanne, Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Kenneth 
Berry, Raleigh, N.C. Seven grandchildren also survive. 


    Graveside services for Mr. Berry will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 
7, in the Collins Cemetery, Hampton, with the Rev. Mike Hyder officiating. 
Interment will follow the service. Music will be provided by Roberta and Wayne 
Jones. Active pallbearers will be Dr. Keith Berry, Ken Berry, Dr. Jimmy 
Stephens, Mike Mason, Craig Ross and Christopher Mason. The family will 
receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Family and 
friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. Friday to go to the

    Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
