Locky G. Birchfield 





    Locky Gladys Birchfield, 79, 124 Birchfield Lane, Elizabethton, died 

Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. 





    Ms. Birchfield was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late 

Charlie Abraham and Dora Hayes Birchfield. In addition to her parents, she was 

preceded in death by four brothers, Tom Birchfield, Bill Birchfield, William 

Don "Pete" Birchfield and Luther Birchfield, and three sisters, Delia Clawson, 

Letha Cable and Evenell Ward. 





    Ms. Birchfield was a member of Southside Christian Church and retired from 

Beaunit Fibers. 





    Survivors include a son, Richard Lee Birchfield, Elizabethton; two 

granddaughters, Jennifer Elizabeth Teal, Newnan, Ga., and Amanda Lee 

Birchfield, Elizabethton; a brother, Charlie Ray Birchfield, Roan Highlands 

Nursing Center; special nephew, Wayne Ward, and special niece, Edith Guy, both 

of Elizabethton; and two special friends, Ann Davis and Doris Rumley. Several 

other nieces and nephews also survive. 





    The funeral service for Ms. Birchfield will be conducted at 2 p.m. 

Saturday, March 4, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Mr. 

David Irick, Mr. Mike Koruschak and Mr. Tim Canup, ministers, officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Walnut Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive 

friends in the funeral chapel from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the 

service. Friends may also call at the residence of her son, Richard Lee 

Birchfield, 116 Birchfield Lane, Elizabethton. Active pallbearers will be Jimmy 

Tester, Dorreel Jarrett, Anthony Vance, Jackie Davis, Danny Carrier and Josh 

Spain. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Waters, Johnny Davis, Jim Greenwell, 

Larry Stout, Ray Loveless, Junior Jack, Bill Crumley, Floyd Story and Troy 

Thomason. Condolence messages may be sent to the Birchfield family at
