Mary E. Blevins 





    Mary Elizabeth Hodge Blevins, 84, 167 Jade Drive, Elizabethton, died 

Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. 





    A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late William and 

Retha McQueen Hodge. 





    Mrs. Blevins was a member of Freedom Fellowship Church and was a 

homemaker. 





    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, 

Delmar P. Blevins, a son, Mitchell Blevins, and two grandchildren, Eddie James 

Miller and Mary Matoka Richardson. 





    Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard Blevins of 

Elizabethton and Tim and Dong Blevins of Montgomery, Ala.; three daughters and 

two sons-in-law, Sue and Ray Posey of Belton S.C., Debbie Hensley of 

Elizabethton and Judy and Jackie Whitley of Morganton, N.C.; five 

grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a 

brother Charles Hodge of Rural Hall, N.C. A niece and a nephew also survive. 





    A memorial service for Mrs. Blevins will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, 

July 8, at the Freedom Fellowship Church, 198 Old Stoney Creek Road, 

Elizabethton, with Rev. John Hammitt and Pastor Richard Wise officiating. 

Music will be under the direction of the church. The family will receive 

friends at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service, or at the 

residence at other times. Inurnment will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery.
