Ada G. Bowers 





    Ada M. Glover Bowers, age 99, 412 Third Ave., Hampton, passed away Friday, 

July 20, 2007, at her residence following an extended illness. A native of 

Carter County, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Anna J. Campbell 

Glover. She was a lifetime member of Union Baptist Church and enjoyed 

gardening and working in her yard. 





    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowers was preceded in death by her 

husband, James F. Bowers; two brothers, Paul and Boyd Glover; and two sisters, 

Ethel Campbell and Ella Smith. 





    Survivors include one daughter, JoAnn B. Bryan, of the home; three 

grandchildren, Kevin Rowe and wife Marie, Basil Rowe and Khristi Peterson and 

husband Scotty, all of Manchester; and four great-grandsons, Josh and Dale 

Peterson and Clayton and Keaton Rowe. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 





    The funeral service for Mrs. Bowers will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday, 

July 22, with the Rev. Haskel Ingram, the Rev. Pete Pollard and the Rev. Doug 

Ranshaw officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Sunday in 

the chapel prior to the service. The graveside service and interment will be 

at 1 p.m. Monday, July 23, in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Everyone is asked 

to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. Monday for the service. Active 

pallbearers will be Josh Peterson, Dale Peterson, Mike Nidiffer, Greg 

Nidiffer, Rick Elliott, Pat McGinnis, Scotty Peterson, Kevin Rowe, Basil Rowe 

and Billy Joe Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be Martin Bennett, E.C. 

Vines, James Campbell, Phillip Ward, W.C. Morton, Danny McGinnis, Sandy 

Stevens and Bob Trivette. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may 

make donations to Union Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1411 Highway 321, 

Hampton, TN 37658. Condolence messages may be sent to the family by signing
