R.J. Brewer 





    CONCORD, N.C. -- R.J. Brewer, 79, beloved husband, father and grandfather, 

of Harrisburg, died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at his residence. 





    Mr. Brewer was a native of Carter County, Tenn., and a son of the late 

Beecher and Mary Barnett Brewer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded 

in death by a brother, Jack Brewer. 





    Mr. Brewer was self-employed as a TV repairman and was a member of 

Providence Baptist Church of Harrisburg. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. 





    Survivors include his wife, Alyene Troutman Brewer, Harrisburg; a 

daughter, Victoria Brewer Blackwell; a sister, Rosella Richardson, Roan 

Mountain, Tenn.; and two grandchildren, Michael Julian Blackwell and Julia 

Marie Blackwell of Harrisburg. Three nephews and a niece also survive. 





    The funeral service for Mr. Brewer will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, 

July 28, in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, Concord, with Rev. Dr. Hugh 

Cooper, Rev. John Cashwell and Rev. Jessee Watkins officiating. The family 

will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family 

would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Victor Ha and Hospice of 

Cabarrus. Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus 

County, 5003 Boy Scout Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
