Butler James Paul Butler, 82, 313 Anderson Road #5, Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at York Hospital, York, Pa. A native and lifelong resident of Carter County, he was a son of the late Lewis and Gertrude Moffitt Butler. Mr. Butler was a self-employed heavy equipment operator and a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Norman Butler, a brother, Lee Butler, and a sister, Dovie Butler. Survivors include his wife, Mary Bange Butler; a son, David Butler of Johnson City; a daughter, Jamie Conley and her husband Ernie of Dover, Pa.; three step-daughters, Joey Kerr and her husband John of Anchorage, Alaska, Ruby Fletcher and her husband Rob of Big Lake, Alaska, and Bonnie Leonard and her husband Chris of Wasilla, Alaska; two step-sons, Tom Price and his wife Kim and Daniel Price, all of Johnson City; a brother, Bill Butler of Johnson City; 24 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mr. Butler will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 10, at Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home with the Pastor Paul Dixon officiating. Interment will follow in the Patton-Simmons Cemetery, Milligan College. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1 p.m. until the service time.
