CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Pearl Babb, 25 May 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Mrs. Pearl Babb, 85, of Short Coal Chute Rd., Elizabethton, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Carter County, she was the wife of the late Marshall L. Babb and a daughter of the late Charlie and Josie Braswell Chambers. Mrs. Babb was a member of the Millers Grove Free Will Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Horace Babb, Harold Babb and Marshall Babb, Jr., two grandsons and one granddaughter. Survivors are eight daughters and six sons-in-law, Della Jean Hensley of Elizabethton; Joann and William Cannon of Elizabethton; Wanda Cline of Roan Mountain; Patricia and Bobby Procise of Wilson, Va.; Kay and Gary Ford of Elizabethton; Connie and Maurie Lamore of Elizabethton; Naomi and Steve Barnett of Johnson City; Marsha and Alton Cagle of Glouster, Va.; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ron Babb of the home, and Don and Lorraine Babb of Elizabethton; and one sister, Mary Henegar of Johnson City. Thirty-four grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Pearl Babb will be conducted Thursday, May 27, 2004, at 8 p.m. in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, with the Rev. Mark Street and the Rev. Gene Swartz officiating. Music will be under the direction of Darin Livingston. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the service. The graveside service and burial will be conducted Friday, May 28, 2004, at 2 p.m. in the Sparks Cemetery. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from the grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors.
