CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Alice E. Dugger Bailey, 4 Nov 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Mrs. Alice E. Dugger Bailey, 94, Southside Road, Elizabethton, died Thursday, November 4, 2004 at her residence following a lengthy illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late William David and Nancy Jane White Dugger. She was a homemaker and she was a charter member of Southside Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George P. Bailey, in 1984; a daughter, Elsie Kyker and five brothers. Survivors include three daughters, Cleo Kelly and her husband Lester, Johnson City; Mary Calhoun and Betty Ford, both of the home; two sons, Julian Bailey and his wife, Susie, Elizabethton, and Stan Bailey, Elizabethton; one sister, Seffie Dugger, Elizabethton; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and special friends, Carol Ann Jacobs, Regina Proffit and Kathy Wilcox also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Alice E. Dugger Bailey will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, November 5, 2004 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Mr. Mike Koruschak, Mr. Keith Whitehead, Mr. Gene Deaton, ministers, and Mr. James Ding officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Larey Pippin and No Name But His. Graveside services and burial will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2004 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Gene Bowman, Bobby Bailey, Lynn Kyker, James Ding, Sam Hopson, Jimmy Kelly, Dave Dugger and Josh Arnold. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Bowman, Lester Kelly, Ronnie Dugger, Forrest Dugger, John Clark, Bruce Cakebread and Eddie Kyker. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday or at the residence, 1728 Southside Road, Elizabethton, at any time. In lieu of flowers to those who desire memorials may be made to Southside Christian Church, 1605 Southside Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
