CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Mary Jane Taylor Bernholt Baker, 12 Oct 2004 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- VERSAILLES, Ohio -- Mrs. Mary Jane Taylor Bernholt Baker, 82, of Versailles, went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, October 12, 2004, at the residence of her daughter. Mrs. Baker was born November 28, 1921 in Elizabethton, Tenn. She was the daughter of the late William N. and Flora T. Smith Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Christ J. Bernholt Sr., her second husband, John D. Baker, a daughter, Phyllis Bernholt, a granddaughter, Annette Bernholt, two sisters, Helen Taylor and Pauline Edwards; and a brother, William Taylor Jr. Mrs. Baker had worked at Coblentz in Sidney for 10 years. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Crist and Brenda Bernholt, Versailles; a daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Marshall Gard, Versailles; grandchildren, Jane and Chris Obringer, Mike Bernholt, Ginger Bernholt and fiancé Tony Gehret, Chris and Margie Stewart, Mike Gard, and Kate and Jeff Sopczak; great-grandchildren, Brianna Obringer, Braden Obringer, Gracie Obringer and Marlaina Sopczak; five sisters, Edna Archer, Evelyn Taylor, Betty Roten, Margaret Carver and Mildred Carriger, all of Tennessee; and a sister-in-law, Virgie Taylor of Tennessee. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 15, at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles. Interment will follow in the Brock Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 14, at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice for the loving care and support of their staff.
