CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Earl H. Banner, 19 Jan 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Earl H. Banner Earl H. Banner, 91, 745 Sugar Hollow Road, Elizabethton, died Sunday, January 19, 2003, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Banner was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Carson and Lou Grimsley Banner. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Max Banner and Richard Banner, a granddaughter, Dianne Yoldash, a great- grandson, Andrew Yoldash, and by two sisters and two brothers. Mr. Banner was self-employed in the saw mill industry and was a member of Shell Creek Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Edith Young Banner, Ivy Hall Nursing Home, Elizabethton; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Sallie and Jim Mikhel of Indiana, Barbara and Dallas Campbell of Florida, Dorothy and James uckles, Elizabethton, and Carrie Banner, Nashville; and two sisters, Carrie Whitehead, Elizabethton, and Alma Arnett, Roan Mountain. Banner, 91, 745 Sugar Hollow Road, Elizabethton, who died Sunday, January 19, 2003, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, in the Rhododendron Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Roan Mountain, with Mr. Gerald Holly and Mr. Henry Reynolds, ministers, officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 22, in the Johnson/Roan View Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be family members. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Morgan, Larry Proffitt, Dr. James Mahoney and Claude Jones. The family will receive friends at the Rhododendron Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may also call at the residence of a daughter, Dorothy Buckles, 198 Lovers Lane, Elizabethton, at any time.
