Bare Ruby Kate Roberson Bare, 92, formerly of 1608 Dixon Street, Elizabethton, died Saturday, March 16, 2002, at Hillview Health Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Bare was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late John Tipton and Mattie Deloach Roberson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Bare, a son, Billy Jack Bare, two grandchildren, Barry Frasier and Juliet Hicks, two great-grandchildren, Hannah Kate Stang and Jacob Samuel Bare, and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Bare was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Glen and Brenda Bare and Johnny and Martha Bare, all of Johnson City, and Ray and Glenda Bare, Jamestown, La.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Luther Roberts, Sparta, Tenn., and Linda Carter and Ed Odom, Elizabethton; 17 grandchildren; 26 great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Hazel Roberson, Elizabethton, and Myrtle Crowe, Johnson City. Ken Hauser and the Rev. Haskel Ingram officiating. Music will be under the direction of Rick Sweeney and Mrs. Ethel Davidson. Interment will follow the funeral service at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Scotty Bare, Richard Carter, Gary Bare, John Bare, Anthony Bare and Randall Bare. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors of Mrs. Bare. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 18, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, or at the residence of a daughter, Linda Carter, 1608 Dixon Street, Elizabethton, at any time.
